Food supplements are not a substitute for a balanced and varied diet and a healthy lifestyle. The recommended daily dose should not be exceeded.
Iron is an essential trace element, important for oxygen transport, respiration, cell division and energy generation, among other things. In certain life situations, such as pregnancy, heavy menstruation, regular blood donations, a vegetarian diet or bleeding, the iron requirement may be higher than normal. In addition to iron intake through a balanced and varied diet, Ayurveda recommends appropriate herbs and natural mineral substances, as well as iron in a special form.
Ayurvedic Iron Rasayana not only contains iron prepared according to Ayurvedic methods (so-called iron bhasma), but also promotes iron absorption according to Ayurvedic knowledge. The simultaneous excretion of ama (according to Ayurvedic teachings, a kind of waste product (see note)) should also support iron metabolism.
