For use in children from 16 kg body weight, adolescents and adults
Active ingredient: Iron (II) gluconate (Ph.Eur.)
Application area:
Vitaferro Effervescent is an agent against anemia caused by iron deficiency.
Vitaferro Brause is used to treat proven iron deficiency.
Use:
The recommended dose for adults is 1 effervescent tablet per day (corresponding to 80.5 mg of bivalent iron),
in case of severe anemia 2-3 effervescent tablets per day (corresponding to 161 – 241.5 mg of bivalent iron).
Use in children and adolescents:
Children weighing 16 kg or more and adolescents take 1 effervescent tablet per day (equivalent to 80.5 mg of bivalent iron).
Vitaferro Brause should not be used in newborns and children weighing less than 16 kg.
Elderly people:
There are no clinical data to suggest that the dose needs to be adjusted in the elderly.
Patients with renal or hepatic impairment:
There are no clinical data to indicate the need for dose adjustment in patients with renal or hepatic impairment.
Method of application
Dissolve the effervescent tablets in 1/2– 1 glass of water.
Take the dissolved effervescent tablets 1/2 – 1 hour before meals.
If necessary, the effervescent tablet can also be dissolved in fruit juice containing vitamin C.
In children, the solution may be mixed with food to increase tolerance.
Composition:
The active ingredient is iron (II) gluconate (Ph.Eur.).
1 effervescent tablet contains 695 mg of iron (II) gluconate (Ph.Eur.), equivalent to 80.5 mg of bivalent iron.
The other components are:
ascorbic acid, citric acid, sodium carbonate monohydrate, sodium cyclamate, sodium hydrogen carbonate, sodium saccharin 2 H2O, tartaric acid (Ph.Eur.), Flavourings (orange) (contains sorbitol [Ph.Eur.]).
Indication:
Treatment of proven iron deficiency conditions.
Notes on application areas:
– Particularly in older people with iron deficiency or initially unexplained anemia, it is necessary to carefully investigate the cause of the iron deficiency or the source of the bleeding.
